British Values

The British Values curriculum is fundamental to our students learning and understanding of what it is to live as a tolerant and respectful citizen. Each week of the school year students learn about a range of topics that cover the British values curriculum. Students learn to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence. The work encourages respect for other people of different cultures and traditions. It teaches students to take responsibility for their behaviour and encourages students to develop their own thoughts and opinions.

Each of our form groups has a British Values portfolio where the work of the class, there is collated. These are beautiful collections of students writing, thoughts, poems and discussions that have taken place.

Not only are British Values themes discussed as part of the morning form time but the they form an important part of lessons and assemblies.

At the UET Compass Academy we prepare pupils positively for life in modern Britain and ‘promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith’
